The Bible
|
We believe that the Bible is the authoritative, inerrant Word of God, which was inspired, or "God-breathed" and written down by men, and that its teachings are absolute truth, necessary for doctrine, correction, and instruction in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16; Isaiah 55:11).
We believe that there is one true, eternal God, the Creator (Genesis 1), who is above all (Isaiah 45:5-6), and is all-knowing, omnipresent, and is all-powerful (Psalm 139). We believe that in the Trinity, there are three distinct persons, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, equal in power and holiness, working in unity as one God for the purpose of redemption (1 John 5:7-8) We believe that Jesus Christ, who is God the Son (John 10:30), was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin (Matthew 1:18-25). He lived a sinless life (1 John 3:5), fulfilling the Law (Matthew 5:17-18; Romans 10:4), and died on a cross to pay the payment for our sins (Romans 5:8; 1 Peter 3:18). We believe that Jesus Christ rose from the dead (1 Corinthians 15:3-4), ascended to Heaven, where He now sits at the right hand of the Father (Hebrews 1:3), and will come again to the earth (Hebrews 9:28). We believe that the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity, was sent to live and work in the hearts of believers, when the church began in Acts Chapter 2. We believe that salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone, and is not earned by works or baptism (Ephesians 2:8-9, Acts 4:11-12). *If you would like further information and details on our beliefs, please use the "Need Help?" form on the home page. |
